Nothing really important to talk about, I just remind myself that I still have a blog to maintain and everything, maybe this is the right time to ask myself or anyone what motivates us to blog..

Is it money? – which is really true for many and myself included, yah, bloggers are human beings too unless they are automated post than by some software program which is rarely seen in a personal blog (I hope they are the real thing). Not to mention the ads, sponsored post, ptc etc in the pages which is already understandable.. we do eat you know..lolz

Is it fame? – I’m not the public social type of person, so who cares?.. though it can help when meeting with new/old friends (or maybe enemies) through blogging and you can find good acquaintances in the online world? link exchange ? comments? critics? its cool..

Is it passion? – Unless I am a very famous writer and an author of a book, it is still a good medium for me to be used as a wannabe semi writer without wasting papers coming from trees.

No matter what the reason is, its nice to know we all have a story to tell even if they are important, truth, lies, gossip or just plain non sense and at the same entertain whoever reads it… happy blogging

Another good news for students(those who love holidays) will have two holidays next week .. First is the February 25,2010 which is the 24th anniversary of the EDSA, but obviously the President moved the hoilday in Monday which is February 22,2010 (to enjoy the long weekends) which is the  special holiday for all schools.

As stated in the Philippine News Agency website, Republic Act 9492 provides that all holidays, except those which are religious in nature, are moved to the nearest Monday unless otherwise modified by law, order or proclamation.

Also in Cebu City Residents only, the government will celebrate its 73 Charter Day in February 24,2010 , and thus declared a special non-working holiday (only in Cebu City). yehey….lolz

To all  wordpress users out there, if you have noticed in your Wordpress dashboard, you can see the option to upgrade to the latest wordpress version 2.9.2. Before you upgrade , this is the vulnerabilities  from the previous version from 2.9.x  up from the official site

Thomas Mackenzie alerted us to a problem where logged in users can peek at trashed posts belonging to other authors. If you have untrusted users signed up on your blog and sensitive posts in the trash, you should upgrade to 2.9.2.

If your WordPress blog have many users, all of them including those with subscriber roles, can have access to all deleted articles that have been moved to the trash. So anyone in your user account can read your trash post or data.

It is not really good if you have more than one authors/users especially if you don’t know that particular someone, he/she might be able to see you trashed posts which already contains your draft (for example.. passwords,  pin accounts, personal (too personal)  blog topics which you decide not to post, etc.

But that is rarely seen to personal bloggers which has more than one author (right?), might as well stay with the current version and upgrade for the next version.

The title post is not a typo , just couldn’t think a better title as of this moment, I still consider this as an event post and a random post at the same time. As I expected many blog post and articles are about valentines. It is true that “valentines is in the air” and also in the “internet”.. though I wont go through the details about valentine stuff etc etc etc… As I know that this day is not really for everyone(especially those without dates..ahem..lolz) .. But of course, you can expect an sms/text or two of greetings from your friends/etc. Sometimes, that would be really enough to go through the day (or survive for some). and the end of it… its just a day

It is also the Chinese New Year which is really rare for this two occasions to occur at the same time(too bad they didn’t declare it a holiday..oh its Sunday). And it is also the year of the “Tiger” which is also my year (cool), though I am not knowledgeable or even a fanatic believer of Chinese-Calendar-Signs-Feng-Shui-stuff. I can’t really help but to get curious , maybe this will be my lucky year I hope…

If you have seen the google search banner/logo as of lately, I can’t help but notice the way banner is shown from its previous. This time though the design is much larger than usual. It shows the opening of the Vancouver winter olympics, starting this day.

Of course, the news about it is really popular in the web. The interesting is that before even the Vancouver Olympic started like having financial concerns and the lack of snow have dampened the glitter of the event(talk about global warming)

Also even before the Olympics have started more than 30 competitors have already been disqualified after testing positive for forbidden substances. (Mayweather is rambling about it against our Manny Pacquiao)

It is still fun to watch though even just I can see and touch an actual snow(if there were any here), that would make a lot fun.

You Know You’re Getting To Be a Blog Stalker When…

when you have a blogger-friend, you never call or message her anymore. You just read her blog and ping in her/his tagboard

when you do call or message your blogger-friend, you inject your conversations with “well, I read in your blog that…”

you never know the blogger from Eve, and yet you already know the name of her pet dog and what her fave restaurants are

you email the blogger when she hasn’t posted for a week

you check the site every 10 or so minutes as a form of reflex reaction especially when there is a comment with her/his url in it.

you think you already know most parts of a blogger’s life from what you read in her site (not true at all!) or just a mere review from an advertiser

you click one of his/her ads thinking that it is still related/directed to her topic /post.

Valuable Life-Lessons for Stalkers: Bloggers need TLC too, traffic, pagerank etc . Make your presence felt and don’t just read our sites.  If you know him/her personally and care for him/here… tell him/her that it is still not too late to enjoy life, take him/her somewhere far from an internet connection.

I was suppose to post this guide few weeks ago after I applied one for myself. And for those who haven’t taken or are planning to take, I will wrap up this one up for everyone.

Before Anything else, here are the Requirements for Civil Service Examination – Paper and Pencil Test (Subprof/Professional) -

1. Properly accomplished application form (CS Form 100)

- You can get this form online and print it yourself from their official website, here’s the link : www.csc.gov.ph

- In my part, I went directly to the Civil Service Commision Office here in Cebu City, the address is CSRO 7 – Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City 6000

2.) Examination Fee of p350.00 (as of this post date)

3.)4 latest & identical passport size (1 1/2 x 2”) ID pictures with nametag (full name). Pictures that are scanned and printed from computers or photocopied are not accepted.

Note: They are very strict about this especially in the nametag part. follow the sequence in the nametag name:

the name tag must show the applicant’s First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name, and Extension Name (if any).  Source : csc.gov.ph

Please follow this requirement because as I was submitting my requirements one of the applicant was rejected because of the sequence for nametag name.. ok lets continue

4. Any one (1) valid ID e.g. Driver’s License, SSS ID, GSIS ID, Postal ID, PRC ID, or current Office ID which contains the applicant’s picture, date of birth, signature and the signature of the authorized head of the issuing agency. A photocopy of the valid ID presented shall be attached to the application form.

5. Submit your application in the Civil Service Commision South Field Office
